BRICK STACK commercial
Architecture Design
Location : Bangalore, India
Area : 20,000 sq.ft
Year : Completed in 2022
A commercial footprint that sits on a prime corner property, designed to house brand outlets, office spaces and resto-bars. This project, like our other works began with a notion of redefining commercial buildings. With a competitive environment where co-working spaces and large malls, how can architecture play role in inducing an interest to rent this space for a viable business or a start-up, an office or a supermarket.
The building houses a basement parking, a double height ground floor space for branded outlets and 3 floors of office spaces that are flexible to house 3-6 offices. While one advantageous factor is the location, the other had to be the building itself, something identifiable, one that could be referred to as a landmark as our client expected of us. This transpired into a stack of large volumes composed in the 3rd dimension addressing the corner critically.
The scale of the vertical clad brick mellows the mass, and the large circular windows softens the form from the inside as well as the outside. These openings are consciously positioned to orient views to the trees around offering a livelier environment for a commercial setup.
